The Kindercare Program is for children in junior and senior kindergarten. Our learning environment bridges the gap between home and school. We offer a relaxed atmosphere and familiar environment that will enable your child to function more effectively, and with less stress, thereby maximizing their learning capabilities before and after the full day of learning at kindergarten.
The programming focuses on what’s being taught in kindergarten, such as letters, early pre-reading, math skills and French. It also provides time for children to play and socialize.
Having added a new play structure in October 2013, we’re able to give the children lots of opportunity to develop their gross motor skills playing outside.
Meals
The daycare is a nut free centre, so please take that into consideration when preparing your child’s lunch. Milk at lunch as well as healthy morning and afternoon snacks are provided by the daycare. Menus are posted in the cubby area for your perusal, and we have a microwave available to heat up the children’s lunches.
On PD Days and during summer months, we ask parents to provide their children with a nutritious lunch on PD Days.
Field Trips
All of our programs provide children with plenty of opportunities to expand their horizons. Through frequent field trips, they can become comfortable in new environments. Kindercare is no exception.
We organize field trips on PD days so as not to disrupt your child’s school routine. Our monthly newsletter and notice board at the daycare both detail upcoming field trips: where, when and possible cost. A summer budget/invoice will be provided in June outlining upcoming costs for special events/trips in summer months. We will generally be looking at a bi-weekly trip during July and August.
